This Cookie Policy explains how Wio Capital S.L. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on wiocapitalhq.com and within the Wio Capital advisor platform. It supplements our Privacy Policy. Because the Company is based in Spain and serves users across the European Union, our consent model follows the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC as amended) and the GDPR: non-essential cookies are not set until you give your prior, informed consent.

1. About This Policy

Wio Capital is a back-office platform for independent financial advisors. We use cookies to keep sessions secure, to remember your preferences within the platform, and -- with your consent -- to understand how advisors navigate and use the product so we can improve it. This Policy explains each category, its purpose, and how you can control it.

2. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or log into a web application. They allow the site to recognise your device across page loads, store preferences, and measure usage. We also use closely related technologies including browser local storage (to record your consent choice) and session tokens (to authenticate your advisor account).

3. Your Consent

When you first visit wiocapitalhq.com, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the screen. We do not set any non-essential cookies (analytics, preference) until you click "Accept all." If you click "Necessary only," only strictly necessary cookies are set.

Your choice is recorded in your browser's local storage and is valid for 12 months. You can change your preference at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page, or by contacting us at [email protected]. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent and are always active while you use the Service.

4. Categories of Cookies We Use

Category Examples Lifetime Legal basis
Strictly necessary Advisor session token, CSRF protection token, cookie-consent record (local storage) Session to 12 months Legitimate interest / contract performance -- no consent needed
Preferences UI layout preferences, language setting within the platform Up to 12 months Consent (ePrivacy + Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Analytics Anonymised or pseudonymised usage data to measure which platform features advisors use, page-load performance, error tracking Up to 13 months Consent (ePrivacy + Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Marketing Not currently used -- Consent required if introduced

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some analytics cookies may be set by third-party service providers acting as our data processors. We have data-processing agreements in place with such providers and only enable their cookies after you have given your prior consent. We do not enable third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Any third-party processor we use is contractually bound to process data only as instructed, in accordance with GDPR Article 28.

6. Managing Cookies

  • Use our cookie banner (shown on first visit) or the "Cookie preferences" footer link to accept, reject, or update your consent at any time.
  • Your browser settings allow you to block or delete cookies stored on your device. Instructions for common browsers are available at aboutcookies.org. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the platform from functioning correctly.
  • Browser-transmitted opt-out signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), are honoured for the analytics and preference categories. Where the Service detects a GPC signal, non-essential cookies are treated as rejected until you explicitly accept via the banner.

7. Changes

If the Company changes the cookies it uses, this Policy will be updated with a new "Last updated" date. Where the change involves cookies that require consent, the banner will be re-shown to collect a fresh decision.
